Restorative Dentistry

Our restorative dentistry techniques at the Diamond Dental Group, P.C. can help you improve a variety of common dental issues, including: missing teeth, gaps between teeth and general bite problems; chipped, cracked or worn teeth; discolored, stained, or washed-cut fillings; permanently stained or discolored teeth; crooked or crowded teeth; and more. With restorative dentistry from the Diamond Dental Group, P.C., you can improve both form and function of your teeth with results that look and feel natural.

Tooth-Colored Fillings (Mercury Free Dentistry)

Years ago, the standard material used for filling cavities left a very noticeable, metallic appearance on patients’ teeth. With advanced tooth-colored fillings, Dr. Kaur can treat cavities using material that blends in with your surrounding teeth. Composite, or “white” fillings are composed of a very strong, tooth-colored resin instead of an amalgam, mercury-based material. These fillings are now standard at our practice, giving Dr. Kaur the ability to treat cavities with natural-looking, durable results.

Dr. Kaur uses no mercury-based materials in any of her dental treatments. That means our fillings are made of composite, tooth-colored material and we are not exposing your body or the environment to mercury in any way.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain dental crowns can be an excellent solution for repairing and improving the appearance of damaged teeth. At our office, we often utilize porcelain crowns to restore chipped, cracked, or stained teeth, support and/or protect teeth weakened by decay, attach dental bridges, and cover dental implants. Created solely from porcelain materials, these effective restorations contain no metal and can be custom-designed to match the shape and color-tint of your surrounding teeth.

Once attached, crowns provide strong support and natural-looking results, often indistinguishable from your natural teeth. Ultimately, porcelain dental crowns can help strengthen and improve both the function and appearance of your teeth with long-lasting results.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are designed to fill spaces between your existing teeth, and can serve as effective teeth replacements. Composed of a small row of artificial teeth, dental bridges are removable and look natural. In addition to giving your teeth a better appearance, they are also able to help improve chewing and speaking as they are built to last and can prevent surrounding teeth from moving and shifting.

The Fixed Bridge is the most popular type of dental bridge, made of an artificial tooth attached to two dental crowns. The Fixed Bridge is attached over your existing teeth, which hold the bridge in place. Dr. Kaur will evaluate your teeth and determine the best type of bridge to meet your needs and give you a vibrant new smile.

Dental Implants

Cosmetic dental bonding can address gaps, chips, discolorations, or other minor dental imperfections. This treatment can typically be completed in one office visit and be very effective for improving the aesthetics and function of your teeth. Dr. Kaur will apply a durable composite resin to the affected tooth and expose it to a high-intensity curing light for hardening.

Then she will carefully smooth, shape, and polish the resin for the most natural-looking results possible. In some cases, cosmetic bonding can serve as an alternative to porcelain veneers. The results are often very long-lasting.

Implant Supported Dentures

Implant supported dentures can be a great option for securing loose dentures that tend to slip and shift as you eat, speak, and even smile. Additionally, this innovative procedure may be an effective alternative for patients who are not considered good candidates for full dental implants.

Nightguard and Sports Mouth Guard
Nightguard

There are multiple reasons a night guard might be the right treatment for you. Many people who grind or clench their teeth will wake with a headache or toothache. Additionally, you may wake with sore muscles or tender jaw joints. Your teeth may have a flat worn appearance or look very short. Your sleeping partner may report that you make grinding noises in your sleep.

This grinding and clenching can cause damage to teeth, fracture or shorten the longevity of dental restorations, loosen teeth and cause irreparable destruction to the jaw joint itself. Therefore, to protect your long-term dental health and help you keep your teeth healthy; Dr. Kaur may recommend an occlusal guard or a night guard

Sportsguard

Wearing a sports guard while playing contact sports is essential for helping to protect injury to your teeth, gums, jaw , lips and cheeks. Many people play contact sports on a regular basis. This is typical among children, teenagers and adults.  A traumatic accident to the mouth can cause a loss of a tooth.

Wearing a mouth guard is important for the prevention of fracture or injury to your teeth.  Having a mouth guard properly fitted at your dentist is important for comfort and maximum protection of your pearly whites.

Sleep Apnea Treatment

Snoring and pauses while breathing are often symptoms of a serious condition called sleep apnoea. If left untreated, sleep apnoea can lead to headaches, chronic fatigue and even life-threatening risks to your health.

Our experienced dental team offers at-home sleep studies for patients who may be suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea. If you are diagnosed with this condition, our practice has a number of advanced treatment options that can help you get a healthier and more peaceful night’s sleep.

What is Sleep Apnoea?

Soft tissues in the throat, tongue, and nasal passages become very relaxed while you sleep. In some cases, they can become so relaxed that they narrow your airways, causing abnormal breathing patterns. This condition is what characterises sleep apnoea and it can lead to snoring, teeth grinding and pauses in your breathing. In fact, sleep apnoea can cause breathing pauses of 10 seconds or more. One of the things that makes sleep apnoea so dangerous is that a person may not even be aware he or she has it unless it’s witnessed by someone else. This makes it crucial to know the symptoms of sleep apnoea and to be evaluated by a medical or dental professional as soon as possible.

Risks of Sleep Apnoea

It is very important to understand that untreated sleep apnoea conditions carry extraordinary risks, including:

  • Sudden cardiac death

  • Stroke

  • Heart disease

  • High blood pressure

  • Diabetes

  • Loss of memory

  • Fatigue

  • Gastric reflux disease

  • Insomnia

  • Depression

  • Sexual dysfunction

Our dentists can talk with you about your symptoms and develop a treatment plan designed to reduce the risks to your health that sleep apnoea can cause.

Treatment Options for Sleep Apnoea and Snoring

Customised oral guards are often effective treatments for sleep apnoea and snoring. Snoreguards are designed specifically for each patient to provide the most comfortable fit. These can work to improve the airflow through your breathing passages and reduce snoring and pauses while breathing.
